Frybags is a animation/comic project featuring the hijinx of a trio of friends living in the homes navigating jobs, relationships and everyday life in the city of New Aberdeen on Queso Perra. Inspired by The Simpsons, FLCL and 2000s cartoons. For fans of those alongside Regular Show and Robot Dreams.
Angsty, short-tempered intersex lesbian and of the three-eyed green-skinned Cerworn race. Helena was a college athlete on the Basketball team but rowdy behavior crushed hoop dreams. She works as a mascot at the local amusement park Funancial District and the local sports teams while active in music both as a guitarist in a band and an amateur rapper. Enjoys emo music and skateboarding. Best friends with Zach since childhood and currently has a girlfriend named Isabella.
Hedonistic gay dog (Retriever/Jack Russell heritage). Went to college for biology but works both as a barista at dual coffeehouse/burger joint chain Shelly's and a lifeguard at the local pool. Owner of the house as it was paid for by his late sugar daddy who was asassinanted with utilities paid for in the will. Enjoys pop/R&B music,swimming, fine dining and skateboarding. Grew up as a triplet. Currently has a boyfriend named Corey.
fr4nk-13 is the 13th iteration of the FR4NK (Friendly Robot 4 Needy Kids) line of toy robots made by Kanamori Robotics. Manufactured in Japan but found abandoned by its former bratty owner in New Aberdeen by Helena and Zach with repairs by Zach's mom Jane. fr4nk enjoys the little things in life and helping others and does all of the housework and runs entirely on soda. Enjoys both music and pirate cartoons from its birthplace.

This short was made in 2025 during my residency and acts as a second part to the "Routine Trilogy" exploring the typical day for our trio with fr4nk-13 having its turn in the spotlight. Whereas Helena's short is sour and misanthropic, fr4nk-13's is upbeat and is about its love for helping others as a celebration fpr the little mundane things with a bit of racing action thrown in. The intro sequence sees their new rigs in fashion and includes the alien I made for SPECTRA
Characters got a fresh coat both in 2D and 3D in 2025
In 2D, there designs are more developed with their personalities. Figured out Helena's tattoos as well as designs for her and Zach's shirt. The 3D meshes got better topology and weight painting. Helena a zach have mouths with teeth and tongue (still needs improving). Zach has procedural eyes with pupils and lids that can move while helena has the same 2D techniques but now applied to a 3D mesh instead of a plane.
This short was made in late 2023 wanting to tackle a shorter project after the mammoth job of ob-SOUL-1337 and a desire to revist these characters. An angsty winter short inspired by my struggles with seasonal depression. Visuals was completely done on iPad with RoughAnimator for 2D animation and additional animation and compositing in Procreate Dreams and DaVinci Resolve.
