ob-SOUL-1337 is a one-man short film I made for my Masters' at Gray's School of Art in 2023 and was screened at SQIFF 2024. A surreal science fantasy dark comedy about a tech-run dystopia (if only that was a fairytale). inspired by Newgrounds, Jonni Peppers, Yuasa and slimy tech gurus like Musk and Zuckerberg, the film alters between raw 2D animation and sleek psychedelic 3D animation. The film premiered at the Gray's MA show in August 2023, winning RGU Art & Hertiage Prize. The was screened at SQIFF 2024 alongside being nominated for Best Scottish Short.
The short was produced using RoughAnimator for the 2D Animation, BLender for the 3D and DaVinci Resolve for the
ob-SOUL-1337 currently exists as its own film but I have concepts for future shorts in this realm.
